Holidays in Lanzarote are not a drag

…unless of course you’d like them to be. What do we mean? Well think pantomime dames, men in frocks, glitzy costumes and over the top make-up of course. Why not catch a drag show extravaganza on cheap holidays to Lanzarote?

Lively Lady Show, Costa Teguise
This show bar is very friendly and welcoming and puts on a different drag show every night of the week. The shows cover comedy and mime, live singing and some audience participation – are you brave enough?

There is no charge for the shows and the karaoke that follows affords you three minutes of fame or a great watch. Some nights you might even catch Kitty Bingo. If the audience is receptive, the bar stays open very late so those who need their beauty sleep have been warned.

Everyone is welcome, even the kids and they do a cracking good Sunday lunch too.

Music Hall Tavern, Puerto del Carmen
The Sequins and Sunshine Show is another drag extravaganza that welcomes everyone – there’s no coarse language so it’s perfectly fine for the kids. It follows a similar format to the Lively Lady Show: comedy, sketches and songs from some ‘ladies’ in glitzy, sequinned costumes.

The Music Hall Tavern has been around for a long time, but audiences don’t tire of the fun which always seems fresh.

This show which does have a price-tag starts with a two or three course dinner including a kid’s menu before the show gets going. You’ll get to enjoy some great sing-a-long favourites from Mama Mia, Annie, Hairspray, Happy Feet and other popular shows.

Book your tickets through your hotel, holiday rep or online. It isn’t cheap but remember dinner is included and you get a whole evening’s entertainment from about 7pm till midnight.

The shows are so popular you can now catch the Music Hall Tavern on Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura too. Fancy taking part? MHT’s Stiletto Boot Camp is ready and waiting to recruit stars for their summer 2013 shows. Go on we dare you…
