The Most Naturally Beautiful Places to Visit in Norway

Norway is one of the most beautiful, unique and majestic countries in the entire world. Despite this, it is still somewhere that not too many people get to experience. This makes Norway a fantastic holiday destination for those looking for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and those that love nature.

Norway is famed for its breathtaking coastal fjords, glaciers, mountains and charming small towns. It is also one of the best places in the world to catch the Northern Lights.

There are many natural wonders to visit in this wonderful Scandinavian country, but here are a few of the most beautiful:

Trolltunga

A truly epic cliff found 1100 meters above sea level, Trolltunga provides breathtaking views over the picturesque Lake Ringedalsvatnet and the surrounding area. The best way to explore is hiking through the mountains – this can be challenging, but the views make it all worthwhile in the end.

Hardangervidda National Park

Located in the spectacular village of Uvdal (a great base for excursions), this impressive national park is the biggest in the country and showcases the amazing natural beauty of Norway. In addition to the mesmerising natural surroundings, Hardangervidda is also a hotspot for climbing, hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing. The park is home to a wide range of arctic animals and plants, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled at all times for rare wildlife.

Briksdal Glacier

The Briksdal Glacier attracts people from all over the world and it is easy to see why. Nestled between roaring waterfalls and dramatic peaks, the glacier plunges a whopping 1200 metres into the valley below. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking and there is plenty to see along the way.

Lysefjord

Found in southwestern Norway, this 42 km fjord is perhaps the finest in all of Norway. It is remarkably straight with towering mountains reaching as high as 3000 feet, creating an amazing sight that is best experienced with a boat trip along the fjord. Alternatively, the physically abled will enjoy walking to viewpoints such as the famous Pulpit Rock and Bretteli for sublime views below. Holiday organisers like Exodus will be able to arrange tours to here and other areas in Norway.

These are just a few of the amazing natural highlights that are waiting to be seen in Norway, but there are many more and everybody will want to experience the Northern Lights too. There is nowhere else quite in the world quite like this country and it is somewhere that nature lovers will adore.
